The Hive: Skills, Access and Artist Development
The Hive is our artist development programme, created to help local musicians and creatives build the knowledge and tools they need to grow their careers. We deliver:
- Free workshops led by music industry professionals
- Panel discussions covering everything from publishing to production
- Opportunities for sound and lighting engineers to train on live projects
- Presenter roles and shadowing on Honey Box Live broadcasts
- One-to-one support and tailored advice for emerging artists
Backed by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and based at King Street Studios, The Hive is already making an impact. In Season 1, we gathered input from over 120 local musicians to shape the offer. That same spirit of collaboration powers Season 2, as we continue to respond directly to what artists tell us they need.

The Honey Comb: Community, Connection and Conversation
Honey Comb is where artists come together, share stories, spark ideas, and build real relationships — on and off the stage.
We host regular events designed specifically for musicians and the wider creative community, including:
Live interviews with guest artists, hosted by presenter Kez Liddle
Intimate Guest Performances
Honest conversations about local scenes, industry experiences, and collaboration
Artist socials and networking nights at independent venues
Each Honey Comb event is relaxed, informal, and open to anyone in the local music scene — whether you’re just starting out or already making moves.
